Positive Behaviour Support

Understanding behaviour as communication — we work alongside participants, families and support networks to build meaningful, lasting change grounded in respect, dignity and practical outcomes.

A values-led approach to behaviour support

Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) is an evidence-based framework that focuses on understanding the reasons behind behaviour — not just the behaviour itself. At Lotus Assist, our approach centres each person’s rights, strengths, and lived experience.

Our Specialist Endorsed Behaviour Support Practitioner brings a neuroaffirming, non-ABA approach and trauma-informed practice to every engagement. This means we recognise neurological difference as a natural variation — not a problem to fix — and work to build environments and strategies that support the whole person. We work collaboratively with participants, families, carers and support teams to develop practical strategies that genuinely improve quality of life.

Functional Behaviour Assessments

A thorough, person-centred assessment to understand the function of behaviours of concern — drawing on interviews, direct observation, and data analysis in the participant’s natural environment.

Behaviour Support Plans

Individualised, NDIS-compliant Behaviour Support Plans developed in genuine partnership with participants and their networks — with proactive strategies that build skills and reduce reliance on restrictive practices.

Carer & Support Worker Coaching

Building the capacity of families, carers and support workers to implement strategies confidently — through hands-on coaching, modelling and practical, real-world guidance.

Professional training and consultancy for organisations, service providers and support teams working with people with complex support needs.
